The Advanced Course Scholars (ACS) Center is a college preparatory program that equips bright students with the rigor and study skills necessary to take Advanced Placement courses in high school. Taking AP courses in high school will ultimately provide students with an advantage in the competitive world of college admissions. Sligh's ACS program places selected students in an ACS elective in the sixth grade to motivate, challenge and condition them with rigorous
content. Students who graduate from Sligh's ACS program will be qualified for the high academic standards of Magnet high school programs such as MAPS and the International Baccalaureate.
